The Full Story
About Linda
I’m Linda, and for the past 15 years I have been leading people on their Yoga mats. It is my pleasure to guide my students and clients to recognize and notice their own way through the Yogic exercises and breathing patterns and techniques.
I was originally taught over the years after attending the 200 & 500-hour Classical Hatha Yoga Training at YTTI (Yoga Teacher Training Institute) in New York. Since then, I’ve participated in many workshops and trainings from numerous teachers. Some were well known throughout the Yoga world, and others were local. My first introduction to Yoga was taught by a lady named Wai Lana. She was on a public channel teaching early in the morning with her soothing energy. I really enjoyed the after effect of following her guide. After that great experience, I just delved in more.
I stepped out on faith and enrolled in my first in-person class at a Hot Yoga (Bikram Studio) in Brooklyn, NY. The class was simply amazing!! In addition, the teacher and staff were so kind and down to earth. It was so easy to fall in love with Yoga. Either way, whoever was training, giving workshops, or classes, I’ve learned a great deal to further my practice and acquire the tools needed to be able to help and bless so many other people
Your health is your wealth!
Yoga On the Mat & Off the Mat
What does this mean?
Simply, [Whatever you do on the Mat; you do off the Mat.]
My Hatha Teacher would always say this plenty of times all during my Yoga training. I was like huh? I didn’t understand it. As time went on, practice after practice, this statement was becoming clearer. One day a light bulb went off and it was clear as day and night. A common thread I kept seeing was about awareness. Practice is all about “Awareness”, whether it’s Body Awareness, Mental Awareness, Emotional Awareness or Energetic Awareness.
What I Do
Leading Hatha Yogic exercises which includes breathing patterns and techniques. By doing these techniques you become more present in your body and re-acquainted with the life force (pranayama) which comes noticeably from the breath. Eventually, it will prepare for those to notice their own calmness, feeling less stressed and most importantly your awareness about yourself. Join in and give it a try,
What I just mentioned is to give insight to what I do in groups or private class settings. There’s also other skills I have to offer to those who would like more of a one-on-one practice session. This offering is Thai Yoga. You’re wondering now, what’s Thai Yoga?
Thai Yoga is perfect for those who would like a Thai Yoga Practitioner to do the Yoga for them. Doing the Yoga for you? Yes, there are about three (3) or four (4) main Yoga positions in which y.ou'll be receiving While you are in these poses, the Thai Yoga Practitioner will apply gentle to moderate compressions to bring more circulation and give you adjustments to assist in removing the blocked energy within the body’s system. The compressions and assorted yoga adjustments are performed differently than conventional massages by utilizing (the full body method) with the feet, knees, and of course the usage of your hands and arms as well. In this practice, you are receiving more one-on-one.
THE VISION
“Yoga is for everyone; but not everyone is for yoga”
(Unknown)
WHO DO I HELP?
I teach to everyone who is in front of me. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have an inkling of what Yoga is. You may or may not have a clue about what the moves or techniques are in Yoga and that’s okay. My suggestion is that you just start where you are and give “Hatha Yoga” a try.
I would like for everyone to notice their own awareness; whether it’s “Yoga on the mat or off the mat”. It is my hope when I teach the tools of Yoga, that I reach out to existing students and future students who are to come. Once you learn and know your own internal intelligence, it will help you bring about a balance in your mind, body, breath, and energy!
If this is what you’re looking for, or if you feel like this is you, then you’re in the right place.
